Becoming a foster parent in Uganda means taking parental responsibility for a child placed in your care by a care order. Being ready for everyday emergencies — through a recognized first-aid and CPR certificate — is part of the readiness expected of a carer, alongside the medical and suitability checks.

De eis inzake eerste hulp

In Uganda, foster care is governed by the Children Act (Cap 62) and its 2016 amendment, under which a foster parent takes parental responsibility by way of a care order and must be in good physical and mental health, verified by medical examination, with a clean record and a home found suitable by a probation and social welfare officer. First aid is not named as a stand-alone rule, but a current first-aid and CPR certificate from a recognized organization is commonly expected so carers can respond to injuries, choking or cardiac arrest.

Placement and supervision rest with the probation and social welfare officer and, where required, the court, which assess the home and the child's welfare. A first-aid certificate is one element of readiness — kept current — in addition to the assessment, and never a substitute for it.

Onze opleidingen in reanimatie (CPR), gebruik van de AED en eerste hulp worden ontwikkeld conform de meest recente internationale richtlijnen voor cardiovasculaire spoedzorg en eerste hulp.

Wij volgen nauwgezet de aanbevelingen van ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation), het internationale orgaan dat verantwoordelijk is voor de wetenschappelijke evaluatie en de ontwikkeling van wereldwijde reanimatienormen. Deze aanbevelingen dienen als referentie voor gezondheidsorganisaties, instellingen en beroepsorden over de hele wereld – en worden bijgewerkt naarmate het wetenschappelijke en klinische bewijs evolueert.

Elke interventie kan een verschil maken. Uw vaardigheden in reanimatie en spoedzorg actueel houden is zowel een beroepseis als een verantwoordelijkheid tegenover patiënten, collega’s en het publiek.
