In health care, protecting the public begins with the ability to respond to an emergency. Whether you are a nurse or midwife regulated by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council or a home-based carer, current CPR and first-aid skills are part of what the role expects. Here is what the Ugandan framework requires, and how recognized, up-to-date, documented training meets it.

卫生专业人员：继续教育与技能更新

In Uganda, nurses and midwives are regulated by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC), which ties renewal of the practising licence to continuing professional development. Registrants must maintain a CPD logbook of accredited activities to renew the licence every three years.

Being able to resuscitate and manage emergencies is part of a nurse's professional duty of care. The UNMC accredits the CPD activities that count, so documented, recognized training is the practical way to build and evidence the required logbook.

Uganda requires nurses and midwives to keep a CPD logbook of accredited activities for the triennial (every three years) licence renewal; the exact point threshold is not clearly published. Accredited resuscitation/BLS training can count toward this CPD via an accredited provider.

只要参加任何就合格主题开展的、获得认可的继续教育活动，即可履行该义务。心肺复苏/AED、ACLS（高级心血管生命支持）和 PALS 均属于合格活动；其他主题同样合格（例如安全用药、自杀预防或暴力预防）。因此，同一门课程既能履行义务，又能计入您的学时——前提是您保留好凭证。

For support staff — care workers, nursing assistants and home-based carers — first aid and CPR are embedded in home-based-care nursing short courses and certified caregiver programmes. Alongside that training, a recognized stand-alone first-aid certificate — open to all with no prerequisites — is accepted by private home-care employers and is best kept current.

我们严格遵循 ILCOR（International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation）的建议，该国际机构负责对全球复苏标准进行科学评估与制定。这些建议是世界各地卫生组织、机构和专业行业组织的参考依据——并随着科学与临床证据的发展而不断更新。
